Research Services

The following services may be available for use in clinical studies by prior arrangement; further details are available on request. Please note that the availability of services is dependent on our current research programmes.

Assays are available for the measurement of the following drugs:

·       Anti-HIV drugs (amprenavir, atazanavir, darunavir, efavirenz, indinavir,
lopinavir, nelfinavir, nevirapine, ritonavir, saquinavir, tipranavir)

·       Anti-TB drugs (rifampicin, isoniazid, ethambutol)

Note, the anti-HIV drug assays are covered by an external QA scheme.

Method development for analysis of other drugs by LC-MS/MS or HPLC considered.

Metabolic studies of licensed drugs or drugs in development:
·
Determination of the role of transport proteins in drug disposition
using cells models and molecular techniques.
·      Antiviral testing in chronically and acutely infected cells.
·      Pharmacogenomic studies, e.g. phenotype-genotype for drug
    disposition genes.

Data analysis:
·
Determination of pharmacokinetic parameters
·      PK-PD modelling of anti-HIV and anti-TB drugs
